Congrats (again!) for the extra ten bonus points to Kaitlin Bell from O'Donnell HS.  I couldn't help but recognize her again.  Her Rosetta Stone is entirely completed for the six weeks at 100% and her project was ahh-mazing.  I can go on and on, but this student is super special.  Thanks, Kaitlin, for being so great!!

And also from O'Donnell HS, congratulations to Brandon Rosales!!!  Brandon is a good student and has absolutely shined this six weeks.  Writing Activity?  Perfect score.  Rosetta Stone?  Perfect score.  Project?  Perfect score.  I'm so glad you're in my class, Brandon, and congrats on the ten bonus points!

Congrats to Caden Stewart from Klondike HS for being our Spanish 1 Student of the Every Other Week.  This guy was a great example this six weeks of what awesome participation looks like in the Discussion Forum.  Besides getting 100% credit on the Discussion Forum, he has hit the mark perfectly with his Rosetta Stone assignments and his Grammar Lesson this six weeks.  THANK YOU Caden for being so responsible and conscientious in this class.  It does not go unnoticed.  :)

And our Student of the Every Other Week in Spanish 2 is also from Klondike.  Congratulations to Marcus Molina!  Marcus got a 100% in his Discussion Forum and his Rosetta Stone so far this six weeks.  This guy gets done what needs to get done and gets it done well.  ;)  (Did you catch all of that?)  I'm glad  you've been in my class these past two years, Marcus, and very much appreciate you as a student!

Spanish 1

Way to go Sarah Kearney from Klondike!!  Sarah, along with her two friends, Cotton and Kenadee made the COOLEST video for their six weeks project. Seriously cool.  Not only did Sarah produce an amazing project, but she completed her Rosetta Stone for the six weeks at a 100% and all other assignments on time and with great care.  I am so proud of you Sarah!!  Keep up the good work!

Spanish 2

I am so glad to have Kayley Wahmeyer from Mt. Calm back in my class!!!  This girl is an AMAZING student.  She is kind, hard working, respectful, and diligent.  She completed nearly all her classwork this six week to perfection and got all her beautiful green checks on her Rosetta Stone.  YAY Kayley!!!

Congratulations to Zane Smith from Klondike, our Student-of-the-Every-Other-Week and winner of TEN bonus points.

Zane has been really responsible with his Rosetta Stone work and it looks really good.  Lots of green checks with lots of high percentages.  If I'm not mistaken, he may already be done with the entire Unit 4.  Incredible.  Way to start the new  year and the new semester right, Zane.

Michael Key, also from Klondike, gets Student-of-the-Every-Other-Week in Spanish 2 because his Writing Assignment was awesome.  I read a lot of these things, amigos, and it's very obvious when someone tries to write using nothing but their own brain and what they've learned in Rosetta Stone.  That's exactly what Michael did and he did it well.  I hope you keep learning Spanish, Michael.  You're good at it.

I also want to name Kathryn Ellison from O'Donnell HS Student-of-the-Every-Other-Week.  I remember when she moved to O'Donnell last year and was in my Spanish 1 class.  I have been especially proud of her this six weeks.  She missed a few days of school at the beginning of January, but has come back to catch up on ALL her work, not complain, and not ask for an extension.  Your work ethic is inspiring, Kathryn!

HAPPY TEN BONUS POINTS YOU GUYS!

Oh wow!  We blinked and then November was over! Since I missed naming our Student of the Every Other Week the Friday before Thanksgiving, I'm going to name TWO from both Spanish 1 and 2.

Don't forget that these students earn TEN bonus points.  That's HUGE!  I'm so proud of these folks.  Here's who gets it and why...
Picture
Congratulations to Miguel Santana in Spanish 1 at Klondike HS.  Miguel has been a great student all year and finally deserves the acknowledgement.  Miguel has been getting high grades all year, but it's not just that which makes him stand out.  He pays attention to the details of the class, he asks question... he makes an effort that is above and beyond (especially since he speaks Spanish ;) ).  I always appreciate a native speaker that still tries to learn and grow!  (And also, I think his profile pic is suuuuuper cool.)

Picture
Raven Chapman from Mt. Calm has been AWESOME in Spanish 1.  Her Rosetta Stone work is outstanding.  She turns her work in on time and well.  For example, her writing assignment right before Thanksgiving was done perfectly because of her communication with me and her great effort.  I'm super proud of you, Raven, and I'm glad you're in my class.

Picture
Daniella Santos from O'Donnell HS is a shining jewel.   I really feel that Daniella was one of the few, top students this time around that gave 110% on the writing assignment.  She worked on it early (before Thanksgiving) and responded to my feedback several times.  And of course in the end she got it perfectly.  She's super responsible with Rosetta Stone and all her class work.  I also smile whenever I read a message from her, because she loves to type things in pretty fonts and pretty colors.  :)

Picture
Kim Gallegos from Klondike HS has been a great student for the past year and a half.  She nailed this writing assignment recently, too.  She cares about her work and the class.  There are some people that I can feel how nice and warm they are even over the computer screen.  Kim is one of those people.  Also, I saw that it as your birthday right before Thanksgiving.  Happy Belated Birthday!!!!  :)

Picture
YAY Anahi Aguilar from Klondike!   I was surprised this morning to realize that Anahi hasn't already won this honor! :) She is an amaaaaaazing student. She's smart, responsible, and wonderfully communicative.  I am so happy she's in our class and congratulations!!

Picture
Congratulations to Chris Arismendez, also from Klondike.  This guy had a rough go recently and was absent for a few days, but still got all of his Rosetta Stone work turned in on time and made up missing work in just a day.  THAT'S the kind of hard work and dedication that I admire. I'm really proud of you, Chris!!

Picture
I'm so proud of Chloe Gleghorn from O'Donnell HS in our Spanish 1 class.  She has finished all of her RS for the entire second six weeks (I know, amazing, right??!!) AND her project this past week was WORLD CLASS.  YAY Chloe!!!  Celebrate today. :)

Picture
And our Spanish 2 award goes to ROMEO PERALES, also from O'Donnell HS.  Wow! Good thins are happening at this school.  :)
He has done great work on his Rosetta Stone and also had a project that knocked it out of the park.  You should see it to get a glimpse of really great work:

Congratulations to Jesus Betancourt from Mt. Calm, our Spanish 1 Student of the Every Other Week!
He has finished his first six weeks with a strong A, had a perfect Writing and Speaking activity this past two weeks, and had a 100% in all of his Rosetta Stone work.
I'm proud of you!!!  Way to go and way to get the bonus points for winning this award.  :)

Picture
And way to go, Rachel Hall from Mt. Calm, for being named Student of the Every Other Week.  This girl is special!  She had some serious technical difficulties this year did NOT let it hold her back.  Despite the setback, she finished ALL of her Rosetta Stone with a 100%. And I'm not just talking about getting all the green checks, I'm talking about getting nearly all of her lessons completed with a 100%.  I rarely see that and it is special!!!  I'm so stinkin' proud of you, Rachel!!  Awesome job on finishing the six weeks with an A and for being named Student of the Week!!

Congrats to Kaitlin Bell at O'Donnell!  She is our Student of the Every Other Week in Spanish 1.

Kaitlin has done a GREAT job about looking ahead, doing her best, and completing assignments.  She has finished her entire unit of Rosetta Stone (early), did a great project, and has already completed her Writing Assignment and Glossary Assignment that aren't due until next week.  YOU GO, Kaitlin.

I enjoyed the Animoto she made for her project, so I'm sharing!  Take a look.  :)

And congratulations to Lisa Boschman at Klondike HS in Spanish 2!!
What can I say, I think she's AWESOME!  This girl is friendly, funny, smart, responsible, the list goes on....
Her grade is amazing.  She's finished her RS unit with a 100%, got an A on her project, and has done great in all other assignments.  Beyond that, she's communicative with me and encouraging to others.  YAY Lisa!

CONGRATULATIONS to Isabelle Jimenez in Spanish 1.  She is our first Student of the Every Other Week and will earn TEN bonus points.
This girl has rocked out her Rosetta Stone, done well in the Discussion Forum, and has even made amazing progress in her project next Friday.
I'm proud of you Isabelle and am proud to share your amazing start with the class.  :)

And Klayton Fielding for Spanish 2!!
Even with some set-backs at the start of the year, Klayton got all 10 points on the Orientation Activity, an A on his Rosetta Stone check, and all 20 points in the Discussion Forum due today.
VERY impressive, Klayton.  This is one great guy, class.
